Mitchell A. Otradovec

Mitchell A. Otradovec, 23, of Suring (South Branch), passed away on Aug. 15, 2016. He was born on Nov. 19, 1992, to Jerome and Rosanne (DeKeyser) Otradovec in Shawano.

Mitchell was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was always willing to help someone out when they were in need.

Mitchell is survived by his parents; sisters, Melissa (special friend Darren) Rabas and Taresa (special friend James) Giese; grandpa, Delbert Otradovec; three nieces, Kiley, Chelsie and Carolina; nephew, Cole; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Chantel Otradovec; maternal grandparents, Christine and Joe DeKeyser; uncle, Jeff DeKeyser; and aunt Sam Burzik.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 4 p.m. until the rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until the procession to the funeral service at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring at 10 a.m. Sister Marla Clercx will officiate the funeral service.

Mitchell will be interred in St. Joseph’s of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in South Branch.

Emmanual G. Vidalakis

Emmanual G. “Mike” Vidalakis, 92, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2016, in Shawano.

Mike was born on Sept. 29, 1923, in Rockdale, the son of George K. and Ruby (nee Stravatziakis) Vidalakis. He was raised in Joliet, Illinois, where he spent his entire life until relocating to Shawano to be near his son and family.

A veteran of World War II, he proudly served with the United States Army from 1942-1946, attaining the rank of corporal.

Emmanual was a graduate of Roosevelt University, Chicago, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He later attended Kent Law School, Chicago. Mike had a distinguished career as an insurance correspondent for Commercial Credit Inc.

He was an lifelong member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, past president of the church board and an active member of AHEPA, which he served as secretary, president and district governor. He was a lifelong member and certified instructor of the NRA. He taught rifle marksmanship to teens and young adults for many years. As a member of the Illinois State Rifle Association, Mike loved competitive shooting and was a former state champion. He also enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, deer and turkey hunting with his family.

He was preceded by his beloved wife of 61 years, Fanoula V. (nee Voulgarakas) Vidalakis (Sept. 23, 2011); his parents, George K. and Ruby (nee Stravatziakis) Vidalakis; one sister, Sylvia Huber, of Jefferson City, Missouri; and an infant brother, Peter.

Surviving are his son, Dr. George (Ina) Vidalakis, of Shawano; his daughter, Diane (Brad) Kamberos, of Homer Glen, Illinois; his grandchildren, Michael Vidalakis, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Stephanie Vidalakis (Brandon Hurda), of Madison, and Kalista Kamberos, of Homer Glen; and nephews, James Huber, Dr. Steven Huber and Thomas Huber, all of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Dr. William Huber, of Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Greece.

The family would like to thank Paiser’s Oakhaven Assisted Living Facility, Shawano Hospice and Dr. Beth Gillis for their loving care and support of our father/grandfather.

Funeral services for Mike Vidalakis will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 102 N. Broadway, Joliet, for services at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded.

Memorials in his name to AHEPA Scholarship Foundation Inc. (13th District) would be appreciated.

Visitation will be Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Trisagion services at 6:30 p.m.

Dominic C. Kaquatosh

Dominic Clark Kaquatosh, infant son of Cameo Self and Calvin Kaquatosh, passed away on Aug. 13, 2016.

Dominic was born on Aug. 10, 2016, in Shawano.

Dominic is survived by his parents, Cameo Self and Calvin Kaquatosh; two brothers, Thomas Kaquatosh and Coltyn Kaquatosh; and his grandparents, Mark and Valerie Self, of Middle Village, Lisa (Harlan Still Day) Kaquatosh, of Ponemah, Minnesota, and Danny (Sue) Tucker, of North Dakota; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at the Self residence, N2094 Hickory in Middle Village. Visitation at the Self residence started Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, and will continue until the time of the services.

Lawrence E. Zuleger

Lawrence “Larry” E. Zuleger, 87, of Pulaski, passed away on Monday evening, Aug. 15, 2016, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. He was born on Feb. 7, 1929, son of the late Elmer and Augusta (Drier) Zuleger.

On Sept. 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Regina Van Boxtel. She preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 2015.

Lawrence was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino. He loved farming, building machinery, building toys and being outdoors. He loved his Allis Chambers tractors. But most of all was time spent with his family and close friends, playing cards for pennies and just being together.

He is survived by his children, Dave (Linda) Zuleger, Townsend, Jerry (Jayne) Zuleger, Seymour, Don (Debbie) Zuleger, Black Creek, Bruce (Barb) Zuleger, Little Chute, Mark (Amanda) Zuleger, Bonduel, Barb (Tim) Smith, Pulaski, Brenda (Keith) Vosters, Freedom, Keith Zuleger (friend, Cindy), Pulaski; grandchildren, Chad (friend Jennifer) Jason (Michelle), Brian, Lorri (Jake), Tony (Emily), Kelly (Matt), Nathan (Abby), Justin (Jocelyn), Eric (Malynda), Melissa (Brett), Jessica (Dominic), Donnie (Savannah), Ashley, Robbie (friend, Courtney), Aspen, Sammy, Dalilah, Calliope, Brandon, Faith, Katelyn, Ryan, Kayla, Dalton and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Addison, Deacon, Adia, Amara, Ruby, Edelweiss, Oliver, Remington, Zach, Bryli, Myles, Camden, Nolan, Harper, Presley, Jadelynn and Braxton; brothers, Earl Zuleger, Black Creek, and Gordon Zuleger, Little Chute.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino, from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Theodore Hendricks and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Bernice L. Svetnicka

Bernice L. Svetnicka, 91, of the Township of Navarino, Shawano County, passed away on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at the Birch Hill Care Center in Shawano.

Bernice was born on April 29, 1925, in Navarino as the daughter of the late Benjamin and Gladys (Pues) Schuelke. She graduated from Bonduel High School and started working as an accountant at Ebert’s Dairy. On May 25, 1946, Bernice was united in marriage to Thomas “Laurence” Svetnicka at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Navarino. The married couple farmed in the town of Navarino their entire married life.

Bernice was a faithful member of Ascension Lutheran Church in the Township of Navarino where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and active in many other activities. Laurence preceded his wife in death on March 8, 2002.

Bernice was a fantastic pianist and loved singing old songs with family and friends. She was a hard-working and faithful wife, loving mother and proud grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Jon) Stucki, Black Creek; son, Larry (Donna) Svetnicka, Navarino; foster son, Arthur (Sue) Nichols, Springfield, Oregon; grandchildren, David, Gary, Kay Ellen, Jennifer, Carrie (Tim), Cathy (Scott) and Adam (Andrea); great-grandchildren, Brandon (Rachel), Kacia, Kaylee, Skylor, Becky (Jason), Kristy, Caitlyn, Jenna, Amber, Dylan, Vivian, Walter and Iona; great-great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Hailey; brother, Dr. Jerome (Beverly) Schuelke, Shawano; sister-in-law, Sue (Everett) Olson, Navarino; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurence; brothers, Elroy (Pat) Schuelke and Ray Schuelke; and a granddaughter-in-law, Lucy (Diemel) Stucki.

Bernice’s funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church in the Township of Navarino with the Rev. Marcia Sabin officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Hilda F. Olson

Hilda F. Olson, 99, passed away on Monday evening, Aug. 15, 2016, at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh. She was born on Dec. 17, 1916, in Outagamie County, daughter of the late Herman and Julia (Hurab) Falk.

Hilda was a graduate of New London High School, Class of 1936. She worked at American Can in Menasha. She was married to John M. Olson, of Shawano, after the boys came home from World War II. The couple lived in Menasha, and had two children, Bonnie Mae and Johnnie Jr., who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Menasha 22 years after his service in Vietnam.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Mae; her granddaughter, Kim Gast, of Lena; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Brian, Jesse and Jared; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, husband John and son Johnnie Jr., she was preceded in death by her siblings, Art Falk and Ed Falk, Louise Zeichert, Lillian Paulson and Minnie Pelky; great-great-grandchildren, Mason David Gast, Brian Delbert Roger Welch Jr.

The funeral service for Hilda will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Ave., Neenah, with the Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah.

Joyce A. Reichert

Joyce Ann Reichert (Sheiffele), 72, died on Aug. 12, 2016. She was born on July 11, 1944.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Sheiffele; mother, Barbara Sheiffele; and brother, Paul Sheiffele.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Joseph Reichert; children: Kelly Ann McAuly (H. Jason McAuly, children: Christopher McAuly, Katherine McAuly, Colleen McAuly, Kassandra McAuly, Crystal McAuly); Lawrence Paul Reichert (W. Karen Reichert, children: Melissa Palmer (great-grandson: Dayton Palmer), Bradley Palmer, Brittany Reichert, Summer Reichert, Karen (Sissy) Reichert, Larry (Buddy) Reichert); Steven John Reichert (W. Angela Reichert, children: Brooke Reichert, Gibson Reichert); and Barbara Jean Reichert (children: Asher Reichert); brother, Arthur Sheiffele (W. Elizabeth Sheiffele); and many more nieces, nephews and beloved family members around the country.

Joyce was born in Chicago, where she met her husband, Paul. They had four children together and now have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson. They moved to Wisconsin in the late 1970s to raise their family, finally settling in the Township of Hutchins.

Joyce became involved in the local community of Mattoon and became the head librarian. Joyce found her place in the library and in the hearts of the community as the face of the beloved institution for over 30 years. Joyce loved each person who walked through the doors of her library and shared their stories with her family.

Joyce was also active in the historical community, attending local re-enactment camps, rendezvous’ as often as she could. Many know her as “Nana Jo” from camp or “The Candle Lady.” She was often the topic of newspaper articles for her work in this capacity and captured many young hearts for the love of history.

While our hearts are saddened by this loss, we know that Joyce loved Jesus and she will be waiting for us in heaven.

A small, private family memorial will be held in honor of Joyce.

Gene A. Forsythe

Gene A. Forsythe, 84, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Evergreen Care Center in Shawano.

Gene was born on Aug. 23, 1931, in Bayfield County, a son of the late Leonard and Hilda Marie (Jacobson) Forsythe. He graduated from Iron River High School. Following high school he started his career in construction, which continued until his retirement.

On June 17, 1967, Gene was united in marriage to the former Helen Viskoe in Delta. She preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 2002. For many years, Gene worked construction for the Martell Co. and Sturgell Construction in Green Bay. He enjoyed fishing on Shawano Lake, riding his four-wheeler and going out to eat with his many friends in the area. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with his friends.

Gene is survived by his brother-in-law, Ted Viskoe, of Delta; sisters-in-law, Jenny Guidinger, of Mequon, Dorothy Forsythe, of Dodgeville, and JoAnn Forsythe, of Iron River; nephews, Rick (Jody) Forsythe, of Iron River, Dean (Kim) Forsythe, of Carlton, Minnesota, Darren (Joy) Forsythe, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mike (Patty), of Fond du Lac, Dan (Renee) Forsythe, of Detroit, Patrick (Stephanie) Forsythe, of Dodgeville, Edward Farnady, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, James (Sue) Johnson, of Iron River, Michigan, Gary (Lee) Johnson, of LaCenter, Washington, Lonny Viskoe, of Minnesota, Dean Viskoe, of Minnesota, Robert (Katie) Ellestad, Jeff Guidinger and Randy Guidinger of Mequon; nieces, Sue (Joe) Vieth, of Arizona, JoAnne Peterson, of Green Bay, Bonnie (Gary) Gurnee, of Shawano, and Cheryl (Al) Schlie, of Franklin; godchild, Rick Peterson, of Alexandria, Virginia; and several cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces.

A funeral service for Gene A. Forsythe will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at 4 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service. Burial will take place on Aug. 24, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Florian Cemetery, Mason. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service, on Aug. 23, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in Gene’s name to the Shawano County Humane Society.

Michael John “Fats” “Perch Daddy” Kovach, 68, of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, in Appleton.

Michael was born in Milwaukee on March 29, 1948, the son of the late John and Janet (Franz) Kovach Jr. On Oct. 9, 1993, Michael was united in marriage to Sandra Boettcher. He worked as a printer at MPI Graphics in Milwaukee, Mary Morgan in Green Bay and most recently at Independent Printing in De Pere. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and rebuilding tractors.

Michael is survived by his wife, Sandi; two children, Tracy Kovach, of Milwaukee, and Aaron (Dawn) Kovach, of Mount Pleasant; two stepchildren, Wanda (Joel) Nischke, of Green Valley, and Lance (Vicki) Olson, of Bonduel; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Bobby, Justin, Skylar and Makayla; six stepgrandchildren, Zachary, Nicole, Tyler, Riley, Alexandra and Remington; and one sister, Suzanne (Michael) Mahr, of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marianne Huntington.

Memorial services for Michael will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Todd Jerabek officiating. Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.

Patricia D. Kelm-Erdmann

Patricia Dolores Kelm-Erdmann, 88, of the town of Richmond, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, in Appleton.

Patricia was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 12, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Alice (Plewa) Kutka. On Sept. 13, 1947, Pat was united in marriage to Eugene A. Kelm at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Pat worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in the accounting department for many years. She and Eugene moved to Shawano in 1986 after Eugene’s retirement.

Eugene preceded Pat in death on July 18, 1997. On Feb. 22, 2005, she was united in marriage to Eldor Erdman in Shawano. Eldor preceded her in death on May 23, 2015.

Pat was a very sweet woman who loved art and painting as well as gardening, reading and playing bridge.

She is survived by a brother, Daniel Kutka; two sisters-in-law, Dolores (Jim Kloss) Kutka-Kloss, of Muskego, and Mary Kelm, of Merton; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene; her second husband, Eldor; her parents; and two brothers, John and David.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. and again at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Wayne W. Rohde

Wayne W. Rohde, 68, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at home, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on July 14, 1948, in Shawano to the late Harvey Martin and Caroline (Braun) Rohde and was a 1966 graduate of Shawano High School.

Wayne attended college at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, where he earned an associate degree. He married Sharon on March 29, 1969, in Shawano and together they shared 47 loving years of marriage. He worked as a machinist at Industrial Engraving, retiring after 37 years of employment.

Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, biking, camping. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Keis and Stephanie Mae (Eric) Ashley; four grandchildren, Destin, Julia, Rayne and Spencer. Wayne also leaves his brother, Eugene (Mary) Rohde, many other extended family and his beloved pet Louie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Benjamin Floyd.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 341 Wilson Ave., Green Bay, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, from 9 -10:45 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Drive Cemetery, Shawano.

Ruth H. Marohl

Ruth H. (Druckrey) Marohl passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at the age of 91.

Ruth was born on March 11, 1925, daughter of the late Walter and Alma (Krause) Druckrey in the town of Green Valley. On Sept. 26, 1942, she was united in marriage to Victor H. Marohl. They lived in Pulcifer from 1948 to 2009. After the passing of Victor in 2009, she moved to the Milwaukee area, where she resided at Forest Ridge Senior Community, and recently Clement Manor Continuing Care.

Ruth was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pulcifer and Faith United Lutheran Church of Gillett. She attended Resurrection Lutheran Church while living in Milwaukee. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women Missionary League, choir, Gillett Lions Club and Gideons International.

During her life, Ruth enjoyed dancing, travel, gardening, embroidery, playing cards and board games, crossword puzzles and especially being with her family.

Dear mother of daughter Diane Hanson and son-in-law Danny, of Oconto Falls and Miami, Florida, and son Daniel and daughter-in-law Patricia (Ostrowski), of New Berlin. Beloved grandmother to Britta Hanson, of Miami, Erika Hanson and husband Terry Andrews, of Madison, Mark Marohl and Jennifer (Konz), of Madison, and Kari Marohl and fiancé Joshua Bartlett, of Milwaukee. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Ingo Horn, Nile and Bing Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother Ed Druckrey and sister-in-law Evelyn; brother Art Druckrey and sister-in-law Henrietta.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Faith United Lutheran Church, 11565 Old U, Gillett, (920-855-6464) with the Rev. John Laatsch officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Pulcifer. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, from noon until the time of the service.

Joanne M. Malone

Joanne May Malone, 75, of the Mohican Reservation, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at her home.

Joanne was born in the town of Red Springs on May 31, 1941, the daughter of the late Eugene and Flora (Howe) Huntington. On Sept. 26, 1959, she was united in marriage to Sheldon Malone at Assembly of God Church in Morgan Siding. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years, first in Milwaukee and then in Stevens Point before retiring.

Never one to sit still, Joanne was always staying busy working or taking care of others. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Sheldon; their three children, Sherri (Butch Kitson) Malone, of Keshena, Steve (Ree O’Kimosh) Malone, of Shawano, and Scott (Kelly) Malone, of the Mohican Reservation; 13 grandchildren, Sarah, Joanna (Jamie), Amanda (Hank), Travis, Warren (Markie), Anita, Krista, Olivia, Kayden, Kellissa, Kaeleigh, Kylie and Chenoa; 23 great-grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers, Janice, Geraldine, Eugene and and Bill (Sue).

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Dante Kyle Miller; her parents; two sisters, Susan and Jeannie; and her brother, Howard.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with Pastor Paul Pienckiowski officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Gregory L. Aschenbrenner

Gregory “Greg” L. Aschenbrenner, 63, of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison.

Greg was born on Nov. 26, 1952, in Shawano, the son of Lyle and Mary (Zeamer) Aschenbrenner. On June 4, 1974, he was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Koelbl in West Bend. Greg proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. Greg enjoyed many activities, including hunting, fishing, woodworking, riding his motorcycles, collecting clocks and attending auctions.

Greg is survived by his wife, Pat of Beaver Dam; his sons, Micky (Tammy Uherka) Aschenbrenner and Shane (Theresa) Aschenbrenner, both of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Alex, Jaelyn, Kenade and Ethan; his sisters, Patricia (Roger) Strebig and Susan (Richard) Belongia, both of Shawano; his stepmother, Carol Aschenbrenner, of Shawano; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.

A gathering of Greg’s friends and family will take place on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, from 12-4 p.m. at his home, 606 N. University Ave., Beaver Dam.

Cards, memorials and flowers may be sent to their residence.
