Mary B. Nadler

Mary Barbara (Prokop) Nadler passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at home surrounded be her loved ones.

Born March 2, 1943, to George (Gregory) and Beatrice (Krause) Prokop in Milwaukee. She grew up in Flintville.

Mary was joined with Ernest Nadler in holy matrimony on June 5, 1976, at SS Edward and Isidore Parish in Flintville.

They welcomed their son, Tedd, on Dec. 11, 1977, in Shawano. Mary and Ernest Nadler lived on the Nadler farm outside of Zachow in the township of Hartland for most of their lives. Mary lived the last years of her life in Lena, where she was cared for by her family.

Mary is survived by her son, Tedd (Rhonda) Nadler, of Lena; special family member, Jessica Schaub, of Lena; five grandchildren, Cruz (Erin) Johnson, of Shawano, Ben Keller, of Lena, Angel Dellaire, of Green Bay, Travis Nadler, of Oconto, and Alex Nadler, of Lena; one great-grandson, Brantley Johnson, of Shawano; one sister-in law, Dorothy Prokop, of Pulaski; two nieces Kelly (Randi) Kowalkowski, of Lena, and Chantel (Andy) Stupping, of Marinette; two nephews, Bob (Susie) Prokop, of Black Creek, and Greg (Brittany) Prokop, of Flintville; two great-nieces, Katie and Becca Prokop, of Black Creek; two great-nephews, Emmet Prokop, of Black Creek, and George Prokop, of Flintville; and many other family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie, on Jan. 23, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Beatrice Prokop; two brothers, Tony Prokop and George Prokop; and one daughter.

Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family is being assisted with her end of life arrangements by Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially their nurse, Melissa, and social worker, Vicky, for their care and support over the last three months. We also wish to thank Father Nonito from St. Anne Parish in Lena for his support, assistance and prayers.


Janetta ‘Babe’ Smith

Janetta Mae Smith, 91, of Waupaca, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca, under the care of hospice services.

She was born in Apple River, Illinois, on Oct. 9, 1926, to Paul and Louise (Menzemer) Smith. Janetta married Virgil William Smith in Apple River, Illinois, on Sept. 4, 1945. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this past September.

Janetta graduated from the Normal Teacher’s College at University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She taught at a one-room school in rural Stockton, Illinois, and later taught sixth grade in Stockton. She was the secretary at Micro Switch for 30 years in Warren, Illinois, retiring from the Honeywell Division.

Janetta was the family comedian and always kept the family laughing. Janetta and Virgil enjoyed playing cards, especially “Euchre.” They spent many retirement years fishing, always trying to outdo each other with the largest fish caught. Many holidays were spent “Up North” at the cabin; fishing, playing cards and enjoying their kids and grandkids. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, always wearing the appropriate color on Game Day.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil, of 71 years, her daughters Karen (Rollie) Hendrikson, Wittenberg, Colette (Joe) Esch, Waupaca; son, Kevin (Lisa), Dubuque, Iowa; grandchildren, Shannon, Shane, Slade, Nicole, Derek, Luke, Natalie and Alex; great-grandchildren, Eric, Ashley, Rich, Madeline, Nelson, Sienna, Ava, Mason, and Drew; great-great-granddaughter, Willow; step-grandchildren, Lucas, Meghan, John, Jenny, Jessica and Donna; step-great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Nolan, River and Willow; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Louise Smith; brother, Stanley (Shirley); sister, Ruby (Anthony); and great-granddaughter, Kathryn Grace Kelly Hendrikson.

The funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Waupaca. Visitation took place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

Evan R. Hacker

Evan R. Hacker, 55, of the Town of Wescott, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his home. Born on July 15, 1962, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Carl D. and Alice M. (Perry) Hacker and brother of the late Bruce Hacker. Evan lived his entire life in the Shawano area and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Evan was a graduate of Fox Valley Tech College and worked as an electrician throughout the area. Evan was kindhearted, enjoying Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Dodge muscle cars, playing pool, snowmobiling, boating, and RVing in his free time. “Evan DID IT.” He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Evan is survived by brother, David (Cindi) Hacker, of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Frances (Jon) Williams, of Thorp; several cousins, nieces and nephews; girlfriend, Patty; and furry companions, Einstein and Jake.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in the Town of Belle Plaine. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to American Heart Association.

Duane D. Moesch Jr.

Duane D. “Duke” Moesch Jr., 52, of Shawano, passed away at home on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Born on May 31, 1965, he is the son of Mitzi (Mason) Moesch and the late Duke Moesch Sr. He was born and raised in Shawano and attended Shawano schools. On July 7, 1984, he was united in marriage to Julie Hughes at Immanuel Lutheran Church, White Clay Lake. He loved his job as a truck driver, meeting new people, making new friends and seeing everything through the windshield of his rig. Duke was once told by a teacher, “Nobody will ever pay you to look out a window.” Duke said, “I proved her wrong!” He enjoyed motor cycling, vacationing with friends and Julie’s parents, dining out and socializing. Duke loved nothing more than spoiling his grandchildren and was a doting Papa.

Duke is survived by his wife, Julie; their children, Chad (Jess) Moesch and Chelsea (Kyle) Moesch; five grandchildren, Dylan, Carter, Kaiden, Delilah and Olivia; his mother, Mitzi Moesch; four siblings, Maria Moesch, Joe Moesch, Diane (Dennis Hein) Moesch and Peter (Mikki) Moesch; and Julie’s parents, Jim and Barb Hughes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to Duke.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duke Moesch Sr.; and his sister-in-law, Debbie LaRock.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. and again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Bertha M. Sutter

Bertha M. Sutter, 91, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Shawano.

Bertha was born July 12, 1926, in Springfield, Illinois, a daughter of the late Joseph and Flora (Wells) Teer. Bertha was united in marriage to Clifford Sutter at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield on Nov. 19, 1955. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1992. Bertha was a good and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.

Faith and family were her passions. If you dropped by Bertha’s house, you may have found her sitting in her garage waving to her neighbors, or in her house praying the rosary, or making her world-famous mac and cheese for her grandchildren. In any instance, you would have been lovingly welcomed into her home. Her favorite moments were with her family, whether it was her immediate family or her siblings’ families when she visited Springfield for family reunions. She loved them all.

Survivors include her children, Carl (Liz) Sutter, of Grand Chute, Theresa (Pat) Reiter, of De Pere, and Mary Sutter, of Shawano; six grandchildren, Rachel (Joel) Adler, Kate Sutter, Matt Diny, Ellen Diny, Dylan Sutter-Balke and Hannah Sutter-Balke; three great-grandchildren, Ben Adler, Noah Adler and Jacob Adler; her sister, Marge Davis; her brother, Joseph Teer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her sister, Mary; and her brother, John.

A memorial celebration of Bertha’s life will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. The Rev. Tom Farrell will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred in Bertha’s name to the Sacred Heart School Library in Shawano, or the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dorothy P. Rosenberg

Dorothy Pauline Rosenberg, 98, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Pine Manor Nursing Home. Born in Shawano on Jan. 10, 1920, to the late William Bert and Emma (Schoenik) Hottenstein. On Sept. 3, 1938, Dorothy was united in marriage to Carl Robert Frank Rosenberg. They planted their roots in Shawano, where the couple built their home. They ran the bar in Lunds for several years in the 1970s. Her other occupations included school bus driver, laborer at the canning factory, as well as a short stint with the carnival. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Shawano. She was always up for a game of cards, and loved teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to play, as well. No one ever left her home with an empty belly if she had something to say about it. She loved spending time with family and loved going to the Shawano fair every summer.

Dorothy is survived by her six children, Maynard (Annette) Rosenberg, Nancy (Wayne) Zogleman, Edward (Nadine) Rosenberg, Maryann (Jerry) Justman, Michael (Judy) Rosenberg, and Ricky (Julie) Rosenberg. There are 15 grandchildren, Kelli Jackson, Kevin (Cherie) Zogleman, Wendy (Duane) Hafner, Doug (Susan) Rosenberg, Deann (Patrick) Heath, Shawn (Cody) Bell, Scott (Blaze Garcia) Rosenberg, Amy (Aaron) Schuld, Jaqueline (William) Spaciel, Jason (Katie) Justman, Christie (Matthew) Hietpas, Michelle (Jody Cleveland) Rosenberg, Michael “Buck” (Dana Knaack) Rosenberg Jr., Kyle (Casey) Rosenberg, and Kari Rosenberg; as well as 29 great-grandchildren, Alexandria Heath, Trik Heath, Jacob (Jordan) Coe, Megan Coe, Samuel Coe, Danielle Hafner, Noah Bell, Jordyn Bell, Carson Hietpas, Jaelyn Hietpas, Logan Hietpas, Joshua Zogleman, Timothy Zogleman, Syndney Spaciel, Emma Spaciel, Zachary Spaciel, Dylan Schuld, Haila Schuld, Amanda Schuld, Evan Schuld Amanda (Jacob) Ritchie, Emily Jackson, Nathan Rosenberg, Kyle Rosenberg, Ian Justman, Easton Justman, Cole Justman, Ellie Justman and Connor Klish. There are three great-great-grandchildren: Jade, Jameson, and Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (1978); her parents, Emma and William Bert; her son, William “Bill” (1980); her grandson, Randy Rosenberg (1981); her siblings: Marie Sickinger, Oliver Hottenstein, Arnold Hottenstein, Charles “Butch” Hottenstein, Syllivan Hottenstein, Carrie Rosenow, and her infant sister, Catherine; and her longtime companion, Jim Giese.

The funeral services will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m.

Adolph W. Quandt

Adolph W. Quandt, 93, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in Shawano. Born on March 6, 1925, in the Town of Hartland, he was the son of the late Willie and Leona (Boettcher) Quandt. On Aug. 31, 1937, Adolph was united in marriage to Viola C. Teetzen at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2010. The couple loved to travel and made to all 50 states. He is a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano where he was the former treasurer and a Sunday school teacher. Adolph enjoyed playing sheepshead with a few different card clubs.

Adolph is survived by his daughter, Wava Quandt, of Shawano; his son, Larry Quandt, of Luxemburg; five grandchildren, Brandon, Duston, Larry Jr., Emme, Lydia; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie (Kathy) Quandt, of Green Bay; one sister, Vaniatta Brusewitz, of Bonduel; sister-in-law, Sandra Quandt, of Bonduel; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; his parents; three sisters, Ida, Celia and Dora; one brother, Lester; and twin siblings in infancy.

Funeral services for Adolph will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Divine Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Kuehn officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Audrey M. Hoekstra

Audrey Maureen Hoekstra, 90, of Wittenberg, died on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Homme Home of Wittenberg.

She was born on June 10, 1927, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the daughter of the late Arthur and Allie (Seifert) Neuhoff. On Aug. 8, 1947, Audrey was united in marriage to Theodore Charles Hoekstra at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2007.

Audrey was a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul’s for many years. She babysat and was a Bunco club member for many years. A devoted animal lover, Audrey helped save many over the years and this was one of her greatest joys.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (DuWayne) Klessig and Karen (Dennis) Voelz; three grandchildren, Heather, Todd and Chad; five great-grandchildren, Simone, Gabriel, Isaac, Keliah and Bethany; sister, Phyllis Birchfield; her dogs, Emma and Gracie; and her cats, Annie, Teddy and Mitzsy.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, parents; aunts; uncles; cousins; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Paul Lutheran Building fund would be appreciated.

Hildegarde J. Bartz

Hildegarde J. Bartz, 100, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, in Shawano following a brief illness.

Hildegarde was born Nov. 27, 1917, in the Town of DuPont, Waupaca County, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Bork) Mehlberg. She attended country schools. On Oct. 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Elmer Bartz at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of DuPont. The couple made their home on the Bartz family homestead in the Town of Belle Plaine, where they lived and farmed. Mr. Bartz preceded her in death in September 1991.

Hildegarde is a lifelong member of St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. She had the distinction of being the oldest living member of the church at the time of her death. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and baking.

Survivors include her children, Opal (Richard) Sawall, of Clintonville, and Alvin (Nancy) Bartz, of the Town of Belle Plaine; her grandchildren, Blair (Kathy) Sawall, of Clintonville, Steven (Paul Carpenter) Bartz, of Seattle, Washington, James (Beth) Bartz, of Shawano, and Stacey Bartz, of Green Bay; her great-grandchildren, Zachary (Sandra) Sawall, Brett (Kristen) Sawall, Tyler and Kristi Sawall, Adam and Brad Bartz, and Ryan, Briana, and Allison Bartz; two great-great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Timothy Sawall; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jeffrey Sawall and Michael Bartz; three brothers, and one sister.

A funeral service for Hildegarde J. Bartz will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. Pastor Kurt Kluge will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 9:30 and continue until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in Hildegarde’s name for St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine.

Earl A. Stein

Earl A. Stein, 76, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, March 19, 2018, in Shawano.

Earl was born March 15, 1942, in Hankinson, North Dakota, a son of the late Earl and Irene (Nehmer) Stein. He attended school in Wahpeton, North Dakota, graduating in 1960. Earl then entered the United States Navy where he was a radioman. He served for four years before being honorably discharged in 1964. On June 18, 1966, he was united in marriage to the former JoAnn Dawson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Upon returning from the service, he worked in the grocery business as the produce manager in Wahpeton, East Grand Forks and Grand Forks, North Dakota. Earl then became the manager of the Pick ‘n Save store in Shawano until retiring in 2009. He is a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn, of Shawano; his daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Konkel, of Green Bay; three sisters, Janice (Charlie) Bellmore of Wahpeton, North Dakota, Claudette (Jerry) Bosen of Andover, Minnesota, and Diane Spears of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one brother, Willard (Patsy) Stein of Wahpeton, North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale; two brothers-in-law, Mike Spears and Jerry Striffler; and his nephew, Daniel Stein.

A funeral service for Earl A. Stein will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The Rev. Dr. Timm Griffin will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by Shawano AmVets Post 10. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Noemi S. Block

Noemi “Mae” Block, 59, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, in Shawano. Noemi was born in Davao City, Republica ng Pilipinas, on July 5, 1958, the daughter of the late Marciano N. and Catalina (Timogtimog) Sanchez. She was a graduate of the International Harvardian University in Davao City. Noemi met her future husband, Peter Block, while he was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, and they were married on June 14, 1983. Noemi was a loving and caring mother, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was friendly and outgoing. She loved being around people and enjoyed her time with family, friends and co-workers. Noemi also enjoyed shopping, especially for others. She had a passion for music and loved singing, dancing and playing guitar. Noemi was an active member of River Valley Church in Shawano.

Noemi is survived by her husband of 34 years, Peter; four children, James and Laura Block, of Weston, Phillip Block, of Sun Prairie, Kevin Block, of Sun Prairie, and Brian and Erika Block, of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Helo and Victoria Block, of Weston; her siblings, Ruben Sanchez, of Davao City, Ruth and Brian Blaha, of Shawano, Noel and Grace Sanchez, of the Philippines, and Debbie and Tim Block, of Moreno Valley, California; as well as father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elroy and Joan Block, of Bonduel. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Osias, Benjamin and Esther.

Funeral services for Noemi will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at River Valley Church in Shawano with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Doug Johnson Sr.

Doug Johnson Sr., 83, of Bowler, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on July 6, 1934, in Peshtigo, the son of the late Edward and Lucinda (Long) Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Marten), whom he married on May 21, 1955, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in the town of Almon. Doug served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957, where he participated in an air-sea rescue squad in Greenland during the Korean War. His work included heavy machinery operating and building construction. He had a great love of horses all of his life. He got his first horse at age 10, and was a member of the Triple W Saddle Club in Peshtigo. He and his wife loved dancing, especially square dancing as part of the Wausau and Shawano clubs, and later country line dancing. He was a former commander and member of the Bowler American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; one son, Douglas (Kathy) Johnson Jr., Eland; five grandchildren, Brandia (Jamie) Kutchek, Neenah, Richard (Rachele) Wamboldt, Eland, Anthony (Amanda) Wamboldt, Wausau, Lychelle (Cody) Miller, Gresham, and Douglas (Laura) Johnson III, Rhinelander; 10 great-grandchildren, Lorelei and Katia Kutchek, Corryn, Ellie, Cabela and Archer Wamboldt, Leon and Delylah Miller, and Evelyn and William Johnson; two sisters, Geraldine Trepanier, Pulaski, and Janet Klaver, Porterfield; special nephew, Mark (Patty Jo) Johnson; many other nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Marcia (Bruce) Felts, Shawano, and Mary Ann Marten, Stevens Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Candace Wamboldt; his siblings, Edward (Betty) Johnson Jr. and Donna Vista; his brothers-in-law, Franklin Trepanier, Jerry Klaver, Lester A. Marten Jr. and Floyd (Mavis) Marten.

Funeral service will be held at high noon on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Michael Schram will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Almon, where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

A funeral service for Hildegarde J. Bartz will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. Pastor Kurt Kluge will officiate. Evan R. Hacker

Evan R. Hacker, 55, of the Town of Wescott, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his home. Born on July 15, 1962, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Carl D. and Alice M. (Hoernke) Hacker and brother of the late Bruce Hacker. Evan lived his entire life in the Shawano area and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Evan was a graduate of Fox Valley Tech College and worked as an electrician throughout the area. Evan was kindhearted, enjoying Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Dodge muscle cars, playing pool, snowmobiling, boating, and RVing in his free time. “Evan DID IT.” He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Evan is survived by brother, David (Cindi) Hacker, of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Frances (Jon) Williams, of Thorp; several cousins, nieces and nephews; girlfriend, Patty; and furry companions, Einstein and Jake.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in the Town of Belle Plaine. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

Kenneth E. Schneider

Kenneth E. Schneider, 88, of Cecil, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, while surrounded by his family on Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2018, in Green Bay. He was born in the Town of Maple Grove on Oct. 31, 1929, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Hansen) Schneider. Kenneth is a 1949 graduate of Bonduel High School. In 1951, Kenneth was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge on Oct. 9, 1953. On Aug. 8, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Arbutus Wegner, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil. For a short time, Kenneth worked at Appleton Coated before the couple began dairy farming, until their retirement. Kenneth still enjoyed helping on the farm, along with tractor rides. Kenneth was extremely proud his military service and was a member of the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. He had a love for old Army Jeeps — so much so, that he drove his own restored Jeep in numerous local parades year after year. In past years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, travelling with Arbutus, including trips throughout the states and numerous countries, and four-wheeling. He took great pride in his new Gator, which he purchased this past winter.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Arbutus; his son, Gerald “Jerry” (Alice) Schneider, of Cecil; two daughters, Joyce (Roger) Olson, of Shawano, and JoAnn (Steve Schmidt) Schneider, of Gillett; three grandchildren, Jesse (Tieha Kuczer) Schneider, of Bonduel, Lisa (Matt Dazell) Schmidt, of Merrillville, Indiana, and Nikki Schmidt, of Gillett. He is further survived by his brother, Clarence (Barb) Schneider, of Cecil; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wegner, of Shawano; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Vernon (Bernice) Schneider; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin Wegner and Marvin and Myrtle Neumann.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil with the Rev. Moira Finley officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s UCC Cemetery in Cecil with military rites conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel and again at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Barbara Sohr-Durow, 50, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 24, 2018. She was born on Dec. 31, 1967, to Dorothy (Van Vooren) Sohr and Randy Sohr.

Barbara married Jeff Durow on October 20, 2012, in Green Bay. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling, including a recent adventure with Jeff to Daytona Beach and Key West on their motorcycle, with their friends, Rob and Glenda Woldt.

From childhood on, Barbara treasured and enjoyed the family cottage on Shawano Lake including annual corn roasts and family Fourth of July celebrations. Barb’s dream became a reality as the cottage was recently rebuilt to be their future retirement home on the lake. She was employed for 27 years at United Healthcare. Barbara was a devoted and loving wife to Jeff, daughter to Dorothy and fun “Gramma Barb” to Liam and Beckett. She leaves behind her faithful companion of 12 years, Brewsky.

Barb is further survived by her daughter, Heather (Roswell) Egilsson; son, Jeffrey (Chey) Durow Jr.; her husband, Jeff; half-sister, Patricia Sohr; father-in-law, Allen Durow Sr.; and special cousins whom she considered as her brothers and sisters, Lisa (Scott) Niemuth, Steven (Kelly) Heim, and Patti (Tom) Tomashek; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Randy Sohr; maternal and paternal grandparents, and her mother-in-law, Gloria Durow.

Ralph R. Prey Jr., 68, Oconto, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. Ralph was born Nov. 17, 1949, in Clintonville to the late Ralph and Lucille (Drake) Prey Sr. He married Sharon Ellie on Oct. 30, 1976. Ralph worked at Bond Pickle for eight years and as a crossing guard for the city for over 20 years.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Sharon Prey, Oconto; two sons, Thomas Prey, Oconto; Michael (Beth Bice) Prey, Oconto; six sisters, LaVerne (John) Burmeister, Shawano; Joanne (Jim) Prey, Shawano; Kay (Jerome) Babino, Oconto; Betty Gajewske, Brillion; Barbara (Bob) Bohart, Shawano; Jeanette (Dave) Habeck, Shawano; three brothers, Eddie (Helen) Prey, Wisconsin Rapids; Gary (Robin) Prey, Shawano; Jim (Jeanie) Prey, Shawano; a sister-in-law, Milie Prey, Tigerton; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Aiden “Butchy,” Kevin and Kyle Prey.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Prey, Sandy DeBroux; a brother, Roger Prey; a sister-in-law, Joanne Prey and a brother-in-law, Jerry Gajewske.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Memorial services will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Visitation will continue after the service until 8 p.m.
