Dennis C. Posselt, 82, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, in Shawano. Dennis was born in Shawano on June 30, 1936, son of the late Carl and Eunice (Pederson) Posselt. In his youth, Dennis enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, Oscar and Anna, and Charles and Bertha. He was a 1954 graduate of Shawano High School. On Feb. 27, 1956, he enlisted in the United States Army. He received special honors for sharpshooting at Tank and Gunnery School 8th Cav. He was in the 8th Recon Squadron of the 8th Division at Ft. Carson, Colorado, before transferring to Nuremburg-Merrell Barricks for 18 months. He also served in both Furth and Mannheim, Germany. While stationed in Germany, he met his future wife, Ursula Schlick. Dennis married the love of his life on June 26, 1958, at Gustave Adolf Church in Nuremberg, Germany. After his discharge in May 1959, the couple moved back to Shawano to start their new life together in America. Dennis worked at Little Rapids Corp. (formerly Shawano Paper Mill) for 38 years, until his retirement on March 1, 1999. In June 2018, the couple celebrated 60 years of marriage. Ursula preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2018. Dennis was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stony Hill. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and fishing trips to Minnesota with his family. He was especially proud of his vegetable garden, often exchanging gardening tips and vegetables with his neighbors. Dennis also enjoyed tinkering in his shop.

Dennis leaves behind his daughter, Cindy Mueller, of Shawano, and his son, Scott Posselt, of Bowler. He is the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Jesse (Sacia) Mueller, of Shawano, Rainer Posselt, of Bowler, and Kayli Posselt, of Bowler; one great-grandson, Jesse Mueller Jr.; sister-in-law, Jewel Posselt; brother-in-law, James VandenBrook; Ursula’s brother, Manfred (Gisela) Schlick of Ontario, Canada; Ursula’s sister, Betti Kaestner of Nuremberg, Germany; the Kaestner family, Bernhard, Barbara, Nicolai, Michael, Marcus and Simone, all of Germany; as well as nieces and nephews, Susie Hein, Amy Younk, Kerry Harding, Daniel Posselt, Andrew Posselt and Kersten Schlick. He also leaves behind many cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula; his parents, Carl and Eunice Posselt; paternal grandparents, Charles and Bertha (Fuhrman) Posselt; maternal grandparents, Oscar and Anna (Hanson) Pederson; his siblings, David Posselt and Patricia VandenBrook; his in-laws, Ludwig and Rosa Schlick; one niece, Michelle Forcy; and one nephew, Adrian Kaestner of Germany.

Memorial services for Dennis will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Stony Hill. Military honors will be conducted by Shawano American Legion Post 117. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

John M. Philipp, 81, of Wittenberg, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 6, 1936, in Wausau, the son of the late Michael Sr. and Anna (Lewandowski) Philipp.

On April 25, 1959, John was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Carlson in Shawano. She survives.

John was employed at FWD/Seagrave, Clintonville, until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of PACE International Union and Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. John and Sharon were foster parents for Lutheran Social Services for some time. John enjoyed restoring collector vehicles and going to classic car and truck shows, in which he had won many trophies with his 1946 and 1969 Chevy trucks he restored. John also loved camping, country music, gardening, the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Philipp, of Wittenberg; three sons, Gregory Philipp, of Eland, Jeffrey (Sharla) Philipp and Steven Philipp, both of Wittenberg; six grandchildren, Jonathon Philipp, Lisa (Josh) Mulder, Carrie (Jay) Meydam, Nicole Philipp, Amber (Jordan) Hull and Hailey (fiancé Shannon) Philipp; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Josiah and Samuel Mulder, Aiden and Issac Meydam, Maddelyn and Levi Hull; siblings, Barbara (Ray) Pozorski, of Schofield, Rosemary (special friend, Edward Curran) Fierek, of Shawano, Ann (Gus) Weller, of Wittenberg, Lucille Hinkfuss, of Neenah, Jean Osflag, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Janice (Milton) Marquardt, of Shawano, JoAnn (Albert) Winkler, of Gillett, and Michael (Joyce) Philipp, of Shawano; five brothers-in-law, Melvin (Janet) Carlson, of Marshfield, Douglas Carlson, of Birnamwood, Randy (special friend Joanne) Carlson, of Tomah, Rick (Laura) Carlson, of Wittenberg, and Ronnie (special friend Vicki) Carlson, of Birnamwood; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Hubert) Stankowski and Tina Carlson, both of Wausau; and many other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Carol Gee, Mary Staszak, Michelle Ebel and Alice Herrmann; one sister-in-law, Christine Carlson; and father and mother-in-law, Art and Merna (Kaufman) Carlson.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Amy Perron will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Chris T. Borntreger, 72, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, in Shawano. Chris was born in Fairbank, Iowa, on Feb. 6, 1946, son of the late Toby C. and Mattie (Mast) Borntreger. On Oct. 15, 1974, Chris was united in marriage to Anna D. Troyer in Medford. He is a member of the Amish Church.

Chris is survived by his wife, Anna; eight children, Susie Stutzman, Lizzie Ann (Zack) Morris, Daniel Borntreger, Mose (Kari) Borntreger, Marvin (Melissa) Borntreger, Mattie Borntreger, Katie Mae (Russ) Ebert and Toby (Alison Partanen) Borntreger; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven brothers and seven sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Two funeral services will be held in remembrance of Chris. The first is at 9 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at Mr. Harry Bontrager’s residence, N3999 Hill Road in Bonduel with Mr. Eli Mullet officiating, with visitation on Saturday from 5-9 p.m. A second service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at Maranatha Baptist Church in Navarino with the Rev. Roland R. “Rolly” Genke, 81, of Bonduel, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, in Shawano. Born on May 1, 1937, in the Town of Lessor, Roland is the son of the late Roland A. and Cecelia (Dehn) Genke. Rolly graduated from Bonduel High School where he was active in the FFA and played football and basketball. After graduating he served in the United States Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1962. On May 12, 1962, Roland was united in marriage to Diane J. Neitzel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Together the couple raised three children. Rolly worked at Allis-Chalmers in Appleton for roughly 40 years until his retirement. In his free time, he loved attending the sporting events, competitions and performances for his daughter, sons, granddaughter, grandsons, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Since his retirement, he has played cards and bingo with various groups in Bonduel. He was also a member of the FFA Alumni. Rolly was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel where he was active on the cemetery committee, the Christian board of education, St. Paul’s dartball league, and was the men’s club treasurer.

Roland is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diane; a daughter, Maureen (Randy) Steiner, of Virginia; two sons, Robert (Toni Lindal) Genke, of Appleton, and Mark (Tanya) Genke, of Little Chute; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Bloom, Kevin Bloom, Zachary Genke, Riley Genke, Carter Genke and Mason Genke; one great-grandson, Christian; two sisters, Roxanne (Delmar) Zernicke and Mary (Allen) Schultz; a brother-in-law, Marvin (JoAnn) Neitzel; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Roland will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion. Andi (Warsandi) Siahaan passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at JourneyCare Hospice Center, Barrington, Illinois. He was born on April 20, 1965, in Pematang Siantar, Sumatra, Indonesia, the son of Maruli Gunung Siahaan and Tiamsa Siagian. He was baptized and confirmed in Pematang Siantar in the HKBP Lutheran Church.

He graduated from high school and college in Pematang Siantar. He continued his education in computer science after he came to the United States in 1990. He was employed as a computer network administrator and audio-visual coordinator. He was married to Jody (Jolene) Krueger on July 6, 1991. The couple had two children, Logan and Evan. Andi enjoyed his work, his children and keeping in contact with his relatives in the United States and Indonesia. His favorite pastimes were running, biking and playing soccer.

He is survived by his family, Logan, of Elgin, Illinois, and Jody and Evan, of Shawano. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters. His oldest sister Diana Siahaan and her family Frendhi Said Da Naro, Fero Artha Rizal and Fanuel Dicky Triadi. Brother Zeplin (Mayander Paraloan Siahaan) Sutrisni Aswita Peranginangin, Raja Yudha Roderick Siahaan, Zesika Yulina Siahaan and Novalina Siahaan. Sister Marlin Siahaan Harper (Samuel Harper) and Richard Jones Damanik. Brother Bintang Siahaan, (Eva Pardede) Risky Siahaan and Stephani Siahaan. Sister Rita juni Siahaan (Eben Sihardo Simanjuntak) Yolandry Lidya Simanjuntak, Yuansa ledyi Simanjuntak, Yofani larakan Simanjuntak and Yoshua laza Simanjuntak. Sister Yanthi Maya Berta Siahaan (Ranto Indra Karta Pasaribu) Feby NM Pasaribu and Felix RM Pasaribu.

His father and mother preceded him in death.

Eugene Francis Skalitzky, 77, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at his home. Eugene was born on Jan. 23, 1941, in Shawano, son of the late Benedict and Alice (Blish) Skalitzky. He was a graduate of Shawano High School. On Dec. 23, 1971, he was united in marriage to Eileen B. Krueger at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Eugene worked for Twig’s Beverage, Dey’s Inc. and Murphy Cement Company until his retirement. He enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of almost 47 years, Eileen; sons, Faron (Kristi) and Terry (fiancée Angela), both of Shawano; grandchildren, Gage, Shania (Jordon), Hays (Emily), Tucker, Madisyn, Payton, Clayton and Dalton; and two sisters-in-law, Karen Skalitzky, of Pulaski, and Debbie Skalitzky, of Shawano.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Desiré; his parents; two brothers, Dennis and Richard; and one sister, Barbara.

Dorothy M. (Pingel) Van Vuren, 97, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, surrounded by family members. Dorothy was born on July 8, 1921, in Pulaski, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Pingel. She attended schools in Pulaski, Bonduel and Shawano, graduating from De Pere High School, where she was able to pursue ballet and dance. Dorothy attended University of Wisconsin-Madison for one year, where she studied music, played violin and studied classical ballet. On Nov. 8, 1941, Dorothy married Donald Van Vuren in Bonduel. She was a stay-at-home mom, raising six children. Dorothy excelled at sewing and designing clothes for her children. After her children were grown, Dorothy attended Green Bay Technical Institute to become a licensed real estate broker and a certified soil tester, working mainly in Menominee County. Later in retirement, embroidery became her favorite hobby; making many wonderful embroidered blankets, pillows and wall hangings for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Knowing God as a God of love was the driving force in Dorothy’s life, prodding her to publish a book, at the age of 90, about God’s love. Our family has been so blessed to have her in our lives all these years.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Betty (Nick) Pierce, of Cecil, and Virginia (Wayne) Abel, of Kennan; one son, Terry (Marilee) Van Vuren, of Elgin, Illinois; son-in-law, Bob Kramer, of Butler; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; three daughters, Fay (Bob) Franz, Bonnie Kramer and Billie Van Vuren, all so loved by her.

Craig L. Colson, 77, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in Shawano. Born on Jan. 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Lowell and Myra (Strong) Colson. Craig graduated from Shawano High School and then worked with his parents in the family business, Colson Furs. On Feb. 5, 1972, he and Maxine were married in Shawano. Maxine preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2012. Craig was a baptized member of Hope Community Church. He enjoyed watching the Packers, fishing, karaoke and going up north.

Craig is survived by his children, Kimberley (Brian) Ready, of Gresham, and Brian Colson, of Gresham; three grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Avayah. He is further survived by Chuck (Mary) LaMarche and their children, Blair and Mandy and family, whom he was raised with, along with many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and his parents.

A celebration of life for Craig will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at the Shawano American Legion, 850 S. Lincoln Street in Shawano. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.

Clare Ann Dodge, 72, passed away peacefully at Birch Hill Nursing Home on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. Clare was born in Two Rivers on March 20, 1946, daughter of the late Clarence and Adaline (Peters) Dominitz. Clare was a machinist at Hamilton’s Factory Incorporated for 14 years. In her spare time, she loved trips to the casino, going out to eat and having her bottles of Coca-Cola. She enjoyed watching TV, especially “Golden Girls,” “The Young and The Restless,” “The Sopranos,” “Pitbulls and Parolees” and the Lifetime Channel. Clare enjoyed listening to a variety of music, cookouts, the Green Bay Packers, her turquoise jewelry as well as spending time with her family.

Clare is survived by her fiancé, Alvin “Buddy” Rockman; her son, Brian Wayne (Linda) Bateman; grandchildren, Yolanda Bateman, Claire E. Annimitta, Melissa R. (Jesus Rosales) Skenandore, Brittany M. Bateman and Matthew L. Bateman; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Sue Bateman, and her parents.

Evangeline J. “Vangie” Thiede, 83, of Bonduel, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in Shawano. Vangie was born in Pella on Sept. 26, 1934, daughter of the late William and Edna (Gumz) Messerschmidt. Vangie graduated from Bonduel High School. She married William Thiede on June 9, 1956, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Vangie worked at Pine Manor in Clintonville for 40 years, where she met and developed lifelong friendships with her coworkers. She enjoyed training many new employees over the years. Vangie loved working in her yard and her flower beds. She also loved to read, play cards, and travel with her husband, Bill. Vangie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel, where she was active with the Altar Guild, Bible classes and as a happy greeter.

Vangie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill; sisters, Ethel Svetnicka and Donna Seefeldt; nieces and nephews, Sherry (Glenn) Hill, Karen (Paul) Kinsinger, Randy (Bonnie) Bramschreiber, Dan (Julie) Bramschreiber, Tammy (Keith) Rosin, Debbie (Don) Buresh; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger Messerschmidt; sister, Florence Mavis; in-laws, Bob Bramschreiber, Art Mavis and Ken Seefeldt.

Arthur G. Hohn, 96, of Shawano, passed away Sept. 12, 2018. Art was born on May 29, 1922, in a farmhouse in the Town of Seneca, the son of the late Edwin A. and Ethilda (Otto) Hohn. On Dec. 11, 1943, he was united in marriage to Wilma V. Gresen in Shawano. Wilma preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 1990. The most life changing experience they had was when they both gave their hearts to Jesus Christ and were filled with the Holy Spirit. It changed the course of their lives and their children. Art worked as a farmer for a short while in Amherst when he experienced a life-threatening illness. They left the farm and moved back to Shawano area where, after a long recovery, he began driving commercial truck, hauling general freight, fuel and chemicals for most of his working life. After retirement, Art began driving school bus, which he did for many years. Art enjoyed horses and seemingly always had at least one or two in the pasture. As a young student, he had his horse, Carson, trained to show up when school was over so he could ride him home. Love of horses continued after marriage. Upon one occasion while Wilma was washing the dinner dishes and looking out the window at the latest horse to show up, she was overheard to say, “There goes my dishwasher.” He bought and sold horses, especially if he could “make a five.” Art was a member of the Shawano Assembly of God (River Valley Church), where he served as a board member, Sunday school teacher and until his later years attended faithfully, taking up singing in the choir after retirement.

Art is survived by his three sons, Lee (Judy), of Shawano, Lloyd (Linda), of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Larry (Janette), of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; daughter, Lynelle (Thomas) Gauthier, of Fort Worth, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Art was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet; one granddaughter, Shere Janette, daughter of Larry and Janette; his wife, Wilma; his two sisters, Doris and Ellen; his brother, Donald; and his parents, Edwin and Ethilda.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at River Valley Church in Shawano with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Margaret Pearl (Dillenberg) Luedtke, born Nov. 19, 1924, went to be with the Lord and her love mate, Franklin. Born in the Town of Herman, Shawano County, she was the daughter of the late Katie (Wagner) and Patrick Dillenberg. She lived in the Town of Herman on a farm until age 8, when she moved to Shawano, where she attended Shawano schools, graduating from high school in 1943. On June 24, 1944, she was united in marriage to Franklin K. Luedtke. The couple celebrated 43 years of marriage before Franklin went to be with the Lord on July 4, 1987. Margaret worked at Dupont Bakery and the telephone company. Changing fields a bit, she then worked for Shawano Medical Center as a nurse’s aide and receptionist in radiology for over 40 years until retiring on Dec. 31, 1999. Margaret also worked as an EMT with Shawano Ambulance for 20 years. Margaret was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 117, Lake Drive Cemetery Association, St. James Ladies Aide and Tabitha, Shawano Hospice, Shawano SAFPARC, AARP of Shawano 186 and St. James Retreat.

Survivors include her son, Arthur L. (Mary) Luedtke, of Green Bay; grandchild, Tracy E. (Tim) Larsen, of Shawano; great-grandchildren, Hunter Franklin Larsen, Fisher Ray Larsen and Tanner Timothy Larson; great-great-granddaughter, Gracie; sisters-in-law, Cleo Dillenberg and Alice Dillenberg; and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; her parents; sister, Agnes Bibelhausen; brothers, Joseph, Andrew, Clarence, Paul, Sylvester, Franklin and Louis ‘Pete’ Dillenberg; her in-laws, Frank and Clara Luedtke; sisters-in-law, Agnes (Ruben) Dillenberg, Violet Netzel Dillenberg and Josephene; two nieces, Cathy Dillenberg and Bonnie (Dillenberg) Roberts; and one nephew, Wayne Dillenberg.

Frank Robert (Bob) Cameron, born October 26, 1935, passed away on the morning of Sept. 11, 2018, at the age of 82.

He passed peacefully at his home in Bowler. In his younger days, Bob enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and collecting special items for his children.

Bob now joins his parents, Frank and Mary Cameron; mother- and father-in-law Hugh and Helen Tanner; a sister, Loretta Cameron, whom his youngest daughter was named after; two brothers, Clifford Cameron and David Cameron; son, Robert Cameron; son-in-law Craig Reinhardt; a very special grandson, Jeremiah Cameron; and many aunts and uncles in the blissful realm of heaven.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cora (Tanner) Cameron, married Oct. 29, 1960; two brothers, Paul (Sandy) Cameron, of Birnamwood, and Jim (Penny) Cameron, of Kenosha; three sons, Steve (Becky) Cameron, of Birnamwood, Gary Cameron, of Bowler, and Tim (Heather) Cameron, of Madison; three daughters, Mary Cameron, of Somers, Sherry (Sean) Wrigley, of Bowler, Loretta (Kevin) Baker, of Mattoon; daughter-in-law, Pamela (Robert) Cameron, of Kenosha; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Church of The Nazarene, N10399 County Road D, Birnamwood, on Sept. 29, 2018, at 1 p.m.

Margaret A. Suehring, 95, of Clintonville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Margaret Ann Suehring was born Aug. 10, 1923, in New Holstein, daughter to the late Anton and Margaret (Vollmer) Hauser. She was united in marriage to Herbert Suehring at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton, on Nov. 27, 1943. In 1960, the family moved to Bear Creek, where Herb opened and operated a welding shop. Margaret worked as a crossing guard in Clintonville for eight years, and then later worked at the senior center for three years. She also volunteered her time as a driver for Waupaca County. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, most notably, sheepshead; and dancing with Herbert to the Hauser Polka Bands.

Survivors include daughters, Pamela Spence, Wind Lake, and Patty Lynn (Edward) Prunty, Green Bay; sons, Gayle (Gayla Hudson) Suehring, Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Greg (Erica) Suehring, Deerfield; grandchildren, Josie (Dominic) Wlodyka, Tara (Jesse) Tischauser, Cullen (Darien) Prunty, Arianna Prunty, Ben (Ann) Spence, Tony (Heather) Spence, Tyler and Danielle Suehring; and great-grandchildren, Teegan and Hadley Spence; James, Lainey, Caleb, and Asher Prunty; Giada, Camella, and Vinny Wlodyka.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert in 2003; and grandson, Patton Prunty in 2015.

A graveside committal service and interment will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bear Creek, with Deacon Lincoln Wood officiating.

Beverly A. Ebert, 89, passed away on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, in Shawano. Beverly was born on Dec. 24, 1928, in Clintonville, daughter of the late Carl and Loretta (Otto) Schroeder. She graduated from Clintonville High School. She worked for the Clintonville Dime Store. On June 6, 1953, Beverly was united in marriage to Charles Ebert in Clintonville. Charles preceded her in death on March 28, 2000. Beverly is a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, spoiling her grandchildren and feeding the birds.

Beverly is survived by her children, Dale Ebert, of Florence, Connie (Bruce) Zeuske, of Kaukauna, Debra (David) Gretzinger, of Shawano, and Kurt (Sarah) Ebert, of Black Creek; her son-in-law, Steve Koenig; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat Burton; and two sisters-in-law, Angie Ebert and Elaine Ebert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Cheryl Koenig; sister and brothers-in-law, Mary (Jim) Eggleston, Neil Burton, Gervase (Bonita) Ebert, Urban (Helen) Ebert, Vernon (Betty) Ebert, Rembert (Myra) Ebert, Oliver (Pat) Ebert, Quentin Ebert and David Ebert.

Memorial Mass for Beverly will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with the Rev. Nonito Barra officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. June M. Ponfil, 79, of Keshena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, in Appleton. June was born on June 2, 1939, in Keshena, daughter of the late John and Edmere (Longley) Waubanascum Sr. June was united in marriage to Rodger Ponfil Sr. in Keshena. June was nurturing, loving and had room in her heart for all of her family, taking care of all of her nieces and nephews. Being very religious, she was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. June enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and watching Dancing with the Stars.

June is survived by her children, Rodger Ponfil Jr., Diane (Stein Stephens) Ponfil, Robert (Rose James) Ponfil and Doreen Ponfil; adopted children, Mary “Pie” (Duane “Buckle”) Waukau, Loretta Menchaca and Ian Borhigi; several grandchildren, including special grandson Rico Menchaca; brothers, Edmund Waubanascum Sr., Michael Waubanascum and Peter Waubanascum Sr.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special niece Rose Cantrell.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Rodger Ponfil Sr.; her parents; her sisters, Thelma Neosh, Dorthea Soman and Mary Miller; her brothers, John Waubanascum II and Randy Waubanascum in infancy.

Funeral services for June will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation began at the Leah Waubanascum residence, N432 Chief Tomau Road, Warrington Addition, at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, and will continue until the procession leaves for the church on Wednesday. A wake service was held at the Waubanascum residence on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Richard (Dick) Henry Schuster, 85, passed away in his sleep on Sept. 13, 2018, in Shawano. He was born June 13, 1933, in Shawano and was the only child of the late Raymond and Thora Schuster. He spent his youth hunting, fishing, horseback riding and exploring Shawano County. He attended Ripon College where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and formed life-long friendships.

In fall 1956, Dick was swept off his feet by Susan Weaver, of Elcho, while on a trail ride in the Mooseyards. Love blossomed, and they married six months later. They moved into an apartment where BMO Harris Bank now stands and was located next to the former Schuster Hotel and Restaurant, owned by Dick’s grandfather, Henry Schuster. A year later they purchased their beloved 19th century farmstead just a mile north of town at state Highway 47-55 and Old Lake Road, the site of the first Badger Breeders. In the mid-1960s he bought his father’s business, Schuster’s Electric City, which became Schuster’s Home Appliance located on Shawano’s Main Street, and operated it until his retirement in 1998.

Dick loved the outdoors and was a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting pheasant in South Dakota and elk and mule deer in Wyoming and Montana.

He was an accomplished carpenter, an avid golfer, skier and a walking almanac of the history of Shawano and its people. He was especially proud of his granddaughters and his fiercely independent kids, who all moved west to attain success in their chosen fields.

Dick is survived by the love of his life, wife Susan; and their three children, Scott (Kristin) Schuster of Bozeman, Montana, Jody (Kevin Stone) Schuster, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Stacy (Richard) Lyon, of Bend, Oregon; and two granddaughters, Sara and Annie Schuster.

The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Stomberg and Dobberstein families, Dick Dodge, Lenore Behnke and many other neighbors and friends for their love, care and support of both Dick and Sue these last few years. Finally, a shout out to Aaron Rodgers for his tenacity against the Bears, you gave Dad a great last game to cheer!

Kenneth Frederick Welch, 95, of Plover, passed away on Sept. 19, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1923, in Delevan to Harold and Freida (Kneiert) Welch. He was very thankful for his very long, full and blessed life here on earth and happy to be at home with his Heavenly Father.

After having graduated from East Troy High School he worked at a Mukwanago filling station and Automatic Products in Milwaukee. Ken attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with an accounting degree.

Ken was a World War II veteran serving as a medical laboratory technician and air core medic in the Army Air Force Medical Laboratory from 1943 through 1946, at which time he was honorably discharged.

Ken married Marillyn Miller on Feb. 6, 1946, in Mankato, Minnesota. They were together for nearly 60 years before Marillyn’s death in September 2003. They had been residents of Green Bay and surrounding areas for 30 years. They also resided on rural routes at Bonduel and Cecil (Shawano Lake) and recently Stevens Point and Plover.

Ken served as secretary, treasurer, elder, steward and president of Pilgrim and Redeemer Lutheran Congregations in Green Bay. He was chairman of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church building committee as well as the building committee for the new Redeemer Church of Green Bay. He was treasurer of Zion Lutheran Church, Shawano, as well as serving as first treasurer of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Stevens Point.

From the time of his college graduation, Ken worked for the IRS as a special agent in the intelligence division out of Green Bay, retiring in 1973. He received the Albert Gallatin award for dedicated and long service to the United States Treasury Department.

Ken was a former member of the Wisconsin Society of Certified Public Accountants and Wisconsin Realtors Association and later employed as financial controller at Maple Lane Health Care Facility, Shawano.

One of his favorite pastimes was traveling to numerous foreign countries and spending winters in Arizona. In earlier years, he participated in active sports especially hunting and fishing. Gardening was his favorite hobby.

Ken is survived by twin sons, Mark (Debbie), of Bonduel, and Doug (Sharon), of Burlington; and one daughter, Lauren (John) Isberner of Plover. He is further survived by six grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Vioski, Jennifer (Matt) Stewart, Jeremy (Lindsey) Welch, Blaine (Bailey) Welch, Josallyn (Fred) Napiwocki and Kenneth Isberner; and nine great-grandchildren. Three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law also survive Ken: Phyllis Welch, of Troy Center, Joyce Burkel, of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Charmain and Leroy Lueck, of Mankato, Minnesota, as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sibling; one brother, Robert; two brothers-in law, Roger and Walt; and one sister-in-law, Shirley.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in Plover Cemetery.

William F. “Will” Krueger, 88, of Shawano, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, in Shawano. William was born on Feb. 6, 1930, in Shawano, son of the late Frank A. and Ottilie (Schutt) Krueger. Will graduated from Shawano High School and went on to college at Valparaiso University in Indiana. On Dec. 28, 1950, he enlisted in the United States Navy after one year of college. He served his country proudly as a corpsman alongside his brother Archie on a naval ship until being honorably discharged on Oct. 19, 1954, at which time he returned to Valparaiso to complete his education. William was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sharon Mae Brunner, on July 20, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano; they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past summer. Sharon preceded William in death on July 30, 2018. Will worked for American Can for 31 years, moving from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Arlington Heights, Illinois, to Burnsville, Minnesota, and to Appleton, retiring in 1990 at which time he returned to Shawano. He had a love and appreciation for nature and enjoyed fishing, especially fly fishing, as well as bird hunting and spending time on Shawano Lake with friends and family (always with a cold beer). He enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, playing tennis, and was an avid sports fan always cheering for the Packers. Will was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Shawano Club and the Shawano VFW. He will be lovingly remembered as the rock of our family always giving unconditional support, guidance, and love. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

William is survived by six daughters, Kelly (Jim) Carlstrom, of Shawano, Kris (Bob) Kuhn, of Shawano, Kerri (Don) Otte, of Shawano, Kate (Jim) Garvey, of Shawano, Kim (Jeff) Dehn, of Neenah and Kori (Mike) Stupecky, of Shawano; grandchildren, Alison (Trevor) Grunwald, Lacey (Sean Erhardt) Carlstrom, Mary (Matt) Rau, Amy (Ryan) Kubly, Leah (Brad) Miller, Rachel (Mike) Hoffman, Ashley (Kelly) Goldsborough, Caroline Dehn, Anthony “AJ” Dehn, Michael (Heather Patt) Stupecky and Sam Stupecky; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Lyla, Klara, Mae, Jack, McLane, McCoy, Karagan, Nash, Hannah, Keagan and Weston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; his parents; his sister, Donna Andrews; and two brothers, Frank and Orval “Archie.”

A memorial service for William will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Tom Farrell officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Shawano VFW Post 2723. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Old Glory Honor Flight program.
